This is the first kit I bought from John…sometime around 2011 or 2013 which I finished during lockdown last year.
I enjoyed building it but it has a lot of errors for this particular version, lots of bits appropriate for civvy wagons rather than British military ones. This scale is not usually my thing but I have a vision seared into my memory of seeing a stripped down Wombat Wagon when I was about six and thought it was the best thing ever. As my dad was in the Paras I got to see lots more of them so I did want to build this as a Wombat Wagon but couldn’t find any bits to do it so just a regular out of the box build was completed.
Weathering was fun, I tried some new techniques and I’m quite please with the outcome.
