What a dog of a kit!
I was fortunate to first see one of these up close at Saigon airport many years ago and then in museums in Riga & Tallinn so the seed was sown to build one at some point. One eBay purchase later at this was added to the stash (because I looked in the box and decided it looked too much like hard work).
Fast forward to early 2021 and this made it to my new work bench (I’ve moved house) and here is the result. Raised panel lines, lousy fit, poor interior detail and decals that disintegrated in water.; but managed to piece them together. I added tape seatbelts and some plastic tube to the intakes to hide the empty engine bays behind.
long live the DDR!

Top job on an old kit rick . The Hip is a somewhat overlooked chopper , always in the shadow of its famous ( infamous?) sister the Hind , but a huge number of them served with many air forces ( and still do) . If you fancy doing another ive heard good things about the hobby boss tooling , apparently its a lot more accurate ,plus the decals wont dissolve ! Nice to see some good old soviet stuff and big up the old unloved kits too , cheers tony

I think you've done a great job on that old kit. I built a KP model once, it was really cheap, so do understand what you mean about quality.
