bought the Scammel at a show for just a couple of quid.......one I never did as a kid....was new tool in 1962.......so it's only a year younger than me!......ultimately it will carry the Cromwell I'm doing simultaneously in the little armour GB

Hi Paul,
I built one of these last year the mouldings were shocking but with a little work and a tweak here and there builds up into a great little kit.

Sorry to hear that mate It sounds even worse than the one I had. Can you scratch a replacement.

Glad to see you didn't bin it. As I said before it is hard work but worth it in the end. You may be struggling a bit as I don't think there the right instructions :tongue-out3:

I think that Airfix believe that using the tagline
Airfix Vintage Classics
on their packaging allows them to bring out old kits that were never the best in their day , and get away with it.
I have a couple of books done for Airfix that admit the kits were not great then and a pile of conversions that make better use of the kit parts.

sorry for lack of updates on this.......it was going in the bin!

i cocked up when i added the bogie axle, didnt take into account how tall the trailer was and so the axle was in totally the wrong angle, as if it was going up an incline

plan was to buy another kit at some point and have another go but then i thought id knock up a little base with an incline!......i know its a crappy base but it was just to get it finished, gave it a black wash and a misting of muddy brown, couldnt be bothered to do more

more pics in the finished thread
