I lost the mojo for the radio truck again so it has been put away again for a while.

So next up is the Meng Rolls Royce. This is the first Meng offering for me, on initial inspection it looks nicely moulded in tan styrene. The kit gives you the choice of 4 vehicles, two from WW1 and two from WW2. for the WW1 offerings the kit includes PE spokes for the wheels. It would be nice if they supplied a forming jig to bend the spokes to the correct shape as supplied by other manufacturers . For the later versions vinyl tires are included. There are 4 sprues, the main body is a one piece offering, a clear sprue supplies the light lenses and a decal sheet. A colour sheet is supplied for the various finishes.

I will be going for a WW2 vehicle finished in a caunter scheme.

I also have an aftermarket PE set from Russia which looks very nice.

Hopefully you can join me along the way with banter, pointers and advice.

Hi Scottie
I love the look of these old armoured cars. They must have been pretty obsolete by WW2. I seem to remember Lawrence of Arabia used one in the desert. I'll enjoy this. Who makes the PE set?
Jim
Jim, your right they were pretty much out of date but it was better than walking. As tot he etch set I can't remember I will find out.
Neil, I hope so.

Steve, good to see you mate I would love some reference pics.
Coolio!!!
Andrew, lets hope so.
I've taken a liking to some of this ww1 stuff, hope it's a good build for you and I'm sure you'll turn out a lovely job.
Mark, I like it as well might look at something from this era for my next build.
Rolls Royce, nice having rich friends :disappointed:
Bob, I know but this looks out of place next to the helicopter and lambourgini.

Looks rather small for 1/35 scale....Will look good with pneumatic tires... I'll be in the back and keep an eye out for Matron.....good luck on this Scottie and looking forward to the caunter scheme. :thumb2: Rick H.
Hi Rick, welcome aboard mate, I'm glad your keeping an eye out she does tend to sneak up when your not looking.
South Linc's contingent taking a seat near Mr Jones.
Welcome aboard mate, at least he will stop you nicking the buscuits.
Just pulled up my chair, I've wanted to build one of these since they came out.
Ian, I fancied these as well but didn't hear very good reports about the Roden offering so didn't bother.

It does seem an expensive chassis to make an armoured car out of.
This one's Much better Collin,.....it's well armed! :thumb2: Rick H.

Bet that it's not going to be pink ;) "Yus m'lady"
