Where can I find factory drawings for Viper engined SE5a without breaking the bank?

Do you mean the engine installation or the entire airframe? Google searches come up with plenty of information on converting to a Viper engined SE5a, including links to museums which house drawings but which are not available online for free.

Also, hi.

Hi!

Just need a few basic measurements, e.g. length of fuel tank and distance between thrust line and datum. I`ve found a lot of info online, but a lot is conflicting and some downright wrong, so originals should give me what I need

They were museums etc with online catalogues, no online freebies. I don;t have time to look them all up again.

In the meantime you might like to look at the diagrams on this page which have dimensions:

http://flyingmachines.ru/Site2/Crafts/Craft25441.htm

Also lots of reviews and built threads online for Viper engined SE5a's.

And I haven't looked at it, downloaded it or anything but you can also try a download from http://www.epicmanual.com/pdf-pdfsource/royal-aircraft-factory-se5a-manual-vintage-aerodrome-59241/

It's hard to know exactly how to go about getting information isn't it? Are you building a flying mode, a static plastic model or what? There was a static very large scale SE5a built by a member on this very forum.

Thanks, nothing new though. 1/6 scale R/C. I don`t mind paying, but I can`t justify £120 for the replicraft drawings which incidentally are re-draws and not originals. All I need is a side and plan view with dimensions of the details and their placement, the scale is unimportant. Perhaps I am being too fussy, but this is my first attempt at a scale model, other than plastic kits, and the odd Guillows rubber powered. I just want to find out how accurate I can be.
