Progress with the 223 continues.
Fitted the shovel, the PE came out nicely...Attempted to make the Eduard tool clasp for it but couldn’t get on with it so used an Aber clasp instead....

Made up the PE trafficators and fitted the guards....

It got a bit messy as I found the guard a bit tricking to locate neatly. A bit of Mr surfacer and a rub down once it’s dried will take care of that.

Added the Jerry can rack at the front....33787A91-A9E4-4536-9C84-5A136E688C4B.jpeg

Afternoon folks,
Finally managed to get the kitchen table back and got the 223 out to play with :smiling3:

The next step is to assemble the frame antennae and I wanted to show the frame folded down, so a bit of modification will be required to the kit.
Pictures I found on the net show a few different variations, all reasonably simple to replicate.

Started by cutting off the uprights and drilling out/ opening up the ends.

The uprights will be replaced by something a little thinner and I’ll make some knuckles up for the ring antenna to mount onto.

Typically I don’t have any wire or plastic at the right gauge so a shopping I will go!!

Thanks for looking

Brilliant detailing comade. Luvin the fire extinguisher. Cant be long now before we see some paint or are you hoping to cover it in stowage??

Looking very nice Si, love the mods and bling:cool:
Good luck with the folding antenna:thumb2:
Thanks Fernando....I’ll take all the luck I can get :smiling4:

Si,
Outstanding PE work mate like the idea of collapsing the antenna.
Cheers mate,
strangely finding the PE therapeutic at the mo :thumb2:

Thanks comrade,
Its a very enjoyable build, not ready for it to end just yet, so yes we may see stowage and stuff ;)

Been twiddling about with the radio antenna, so I can model it folded away.
pleased to say the concept has worked but needs a slight modification to allow it to fold lower...

Cheers chaps :smiling4: :thumb2:

Been waiting for some copper foil to arrive so I could make the modifications needed so the antenna would sit lower.
Foil arrived yesterday, so got on and made the bits needed last night...
