Came across this on one of my late night ebay perambulations and thought it looked quite good fun

Small lass in a large mechanised, armoured and armed, battle suit

Judging by the fine surface lines that are evident in places it looks to have been at least partially 3d printed but then cast in resin as per normal as there are quite a few tricky mould lines to remove

I have done all the basic cleanup but need to go around again to see if I can spot any more of the fine mould lines

I have re-scribed some of the panel lines and opened out some of the recesses and holes that were shallow to aid casting, including drilling out the gun barrels

I also plan to add some extra hoses and cockpit detail

Not happy with the solid canopy and how it sat inside the edges of the cockpit so, after a lot of scribing, the 2mm thick canopy was released from the framing. The frame will get some additions so that it sits on the edge of the cockpit rather than inside it

Morning Jim - I agree, not quite so bonkers as wabbit but it looks like it should be fun to paint

Hi Karl - took about a month to arrive. One piece snapped in the post but a bit of CA and filler soon fixed it. With the ebay/PayPal buyer protection in place these days it isn’t too much of a risk - I’ve had a couple of no shows but have received full refunds

sanded off a few more mould lines then did some test assembly with white tack to get it standing up

once it was standing I marked the limbs in relation to their position on the body, removed the tack and CA'd them in place

I then flooded the ball joints with liquid CA




a few general shots


started working on widening the canopy frame


for anyone wondering it stands 80mm tall

it was listed as 1:18 but that would make the wee lass very wee at about 2ft tall and the suit at just under 1.5m

using her height, 35mm, and average female height it works out at a more credible 1:45

that would make the suit 3.6m which is a bit more impressive

it might be fun to scratch one in a standard scale - 1:35, 1:24, 1:15

Not many parts Steve plus it has been on the go in the background for a couple of weeks cleaning up
Going for the matt well worn and abused look

Tim - that is just bizarre. An early prototype perhaps




modified canopy frame tidied up and mounted - drilled and pinned it to make the joint stronger and allow me to bend the wire into position to suit the figure before gluing in place


added a couple of extra conduits each side, because I could

that's the great thing with sci-fi of this kind, it doesn't exist so can't really be wrong

going to add a few more bits here and there then I will have to tackle moulding the canopy

Simon, I'd like to see you mould the canopy as I have one or two canopies that need moulding after they turned yellow.

Hi Richard - going to try plug moulding it using the resin bit that I cut out. Have had some limited success in the past with this method. Resin will need a little tidying up before I give it a try

So it’s somewhere around standard SF wargames size? Would make sense for a subject like this, I think. Odd that they advertise it as 1:18, though.

Thanks for providing dimensions, I couldn't wrap my head around it on the listing page, seems they measured the mech and used it's 80mm height as a man height and worked from there, if the pilot was 80mm then 1/18 would be about right.
Unless she's meant to be a faerie, has she got pointy ears?
