You could be right Steve - a cunning marketing ploy. Going to be costly throwing 3/4 of it away each time

Not the only one Si- I didn’t have to bin half a bottle though! I have had to tweeze a plug of rubbery gunk out of the lid several times. It is a good primer, once de-gunked however.

Ah - I just shook my bottle as wasn't expecting that so must have mixed the rubbery stuff into the paint

I shall investigate first next time, thanks

I agree, when it works it goes on nicely

managed to fire up the AirViper0.2 and get a fun couple of hours blasting AK's dunkelgelb modulation set at this one

looks very light but I know it will tone down considerably later on

the tracks were sprayed with the dark base colour from the modulation set as it looked like a nice starting point

not sure whether to go with camo or leave it plain yellow - i have a german camo modulation set that hasn't been tried yet.......

Here you go then.....

stig-125_2020-3-26.jpg
had this set so decided to try it out - three each brown and green shades

had a nightmare trying to get it to spray nicely (I only seem able to get a consistent finish with Tamiya) so the finish is not as good as i would have liked - a bit spattery on the edges

hope to lose some of that with the weathering

the scheme on the side of the box has chips of contrasting colour all over it which looks fun - yellow on the green and brown and green on the yellow areas so may have a stab at that

That's looking very nice indeed. The weathering will tone it down really well.

Hi Simon
Paint job looks nice. These sets of paint are a good idea I think. They are cheaper than buying each paint seperately but if you only actually use 5 out of the 6 then your not saving perhaps. Anyway it looks good and even light weathering always subdues the starkness.
Stay safe.

Steven - thanks. Not sure myself but will keep pressing on and see how it turns out

Jim - I have a few of these sets from MigAmmo and AK. Just wish I could get them to spray properly

stig-127_2020-3-27.jpg
made a stencil from thin plastic card and tried spraying the patterns on

only had limited success so ended up hand painting them

all a bit dodgy looking

Looking very good Simon. The paint always settles down under a bit of weathering.

Hi Simon
That mask you made for the itty-bitty patterns looks to have worked fine. I wonder how that was done in reality. A little man with a pot of paint and a 2 inch brush? :rolling:
