Simple diorama base .. finished

Well this is the finished article

Made a few additions

Little bushes made from garden twine dipped in PVA then in the foliage mix, held in place by dribbling superglue on the stem which makes it hard and glues it in place almost instantly.

The little flowers are made from unraveled garden twine and used a grassy base, the flowers themselves are a paintbrush bristle dipped in PVA and then the end dipped in ground up pastels (so you can make them whatever colour you need) then just poked in the centre of the grass after cutting to length.

the little areas of reddy-green lichen is just twine again coated in PVA then a scatter sprinkled on it ... when dry just cut to length and stick to base in nooks and crannies to give a flowering lichen effect

here you go

Hi Colin,

Absolutely brilliant Sir, loved reading the build up thread, I found it extremely helpful as well as very interesting...

I think if the 'How to' thread was made a sticky, people could also add their hints and tips, at least then it would all be in one place...

Andy...

Top work Colin. Great end result to a very informative, yet straight forward stage build 'How to'......

Also, thank you for going to the trouble of showing us your tricks and short cuts, and finally proving beyond doubt that diorama bases can be built for next to nowt.

Thank you Monica

Andy,I'm afraid its going to be the base for another Korean MASH diorama.... I'd like to do the scene where radar, col potter, frank and Hawkeye are in the bus coming back from a seminar and it breaks down. Just need to find a 1/35 bus model :smiling3:

No mate that's .. Goodbye farewell and amen .. The 2 hour final episode

This ones just called 'the bus' season 4 episode 6.

The chicken/baby scene is a tough one to watch and inwardly digest ... I'll deny anyone to watch the finale and not have a lump in their throat at some time whilst watching... If they do... They're emotionless. :smiling3: .
