I'm looking for 1/35 Ruskie weapons eg AK-47s, mgs, RPG launchers of the 50s-70s, with ammo boxes etc to suit.
I thought that an AK-47 would be easy to find, being the single most produced firearm ever, but either I'm looking in the wrong place, or searching for the wrong term! I've found a Meng Resin set, but at £22+ that's way too much.
Anyone any suggestions or pointers? - any help would be much appreciated!

Dave, if you can still find Dragon Speznaz figures or the Vietcong, they should have the arms you need.

Cheers,
Richard

Richard,
I've looked at the Spetsnaz figures, and their weapons are either too modern, or too specialist ( ie silenced sniper ). The Viet Cong looks ideal - all I have to do is track one down, at a price I like!! :smiling4: :thumb2:
Cheers, Dave

After searching for Dragon Viet Cong, and finding prices of around £16 +p&p, I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone - I can use the figures as well - ordered a couple of boxes of these..............

at < £10 for 2 boxes, delivered - I may only use half the figures, not bad.
Hopefully they will be populating a BTR-40 APC ( Trumpeter )
Thanks for suggestions!!

Dragon had two AK weapon sets:

141871-11132-pristine.jpg

Though like most of their other weapon sets, they only includes two of each, making the sets distinctly less useful than they could have been. They also don’t include much in the way of ammo boxes, other than some spare magazines.

Also, for some reason there are non-AK-series weapons in the sets, mainly the Type 56 and 68 carbines and the Vz 58 assault rifle, but that’s not really relevant here :smiling3:

At least, with 2 boxes of the ICM figures, you get 6 x AK-47s! - it looks like some ammunition boxes will have to be scratched

Dave, if you need their light machine gun and RPG's you can look for Dragons NVA Sappers.

No, you don’t — they’re AKM rifles :smiling3:

This is apparently the weapons sprue from that:

Three Type 56 assault rifles and a Type 56 light machine gun (the Chinese versions of the AK and RPD, respectively). No RPG, and the rifles are only suitable for countries that were supplied by China, as they have the folding spike bayonet that’s not on any other AK-variant.
