Here is my contribution.

I've long fancied a crack at one of these diddy kits, so.....

As she has an aircraft in the kit, I will paint her in her N. Atlantic Dazzle Pattern, and shove some ice around her too - at least try.

1/350 plays 1/1200!!....The rigging should be fun.

Wow looks like you may need stronger glasses for this one.

Thanks for the excellent and humorous posts peeps!

I'm afraid I got carried away with the build and forgot to take some stage pictures - until now. Sorry.

Nice detail for so small a kit, and all in all, a good fit.

I've started the painting using those little tubs of Airfix acrylics, applied freehand with a 00 size fine point brush. The paints I had left over from the HMS Belfast, I did a while back. I can't understand why people throw these paints away.

Naff secondary weapons, but the 1/1200 crane jibs have far better detail than the Tamiya 1/350 ones - by a mile. The Tamiya's are solid, these you can actually see through! The diddy boats are moulded into the deck. The four holes are for more boats, each just 10mm long. The single one is for the main mast.

This is the initial painting stage, plenty to do yet. Boats, aircraft, masts etc., and then finally, the disruptive 'Dazzle' paintwork!

It's good fun....

Cheers all,
Ron

You could put it a bottle when you're finished.

I'll put it in an empty can of Boddingtons.........Hang on, it would be invisible! The ship would go through the ring pull hole though......

Looking excellent so far Ron!

What did you do with those 'portholes'? Did you drill them out or just sand them down?

Dave, I filed them off completely. Skilled and dedicated folks might well have re-marked them. But, right or wrong, I figured at such a small scale, they wouldn't be seen anyway - so off they are staying.....

Thanks for your post too Ken, Glad you like it thus far.

Ron

Looking nice sitting in the dark grey waters of the Atlantic. Or some polished slate.
