I'm afraid I got carried away with the build and forgot to take some stage pictures - until now. Sorry.
Nice detail for so small a kit, and all in all, a good fit.
I've started the painting using those little tubs of
Airfix acrylics, applied freehand with a 00 size fine point brush. The paints I had left over from the HMS Belfast, I did a while back. I can't understand why people throw these paints away.
Naff secondary weapons, but the 1/1200 crane jibs have far better detail than the
Tamiya 1/350 ones - by a mile. The
Tamiya's are solid, these you can actually see through! The diddy boats are moulded into the deck. The four holes are for more boats, each just 10mm long. The single one is for the main mast.
This is the initial painting stage, plenty to do yet. Boats, aircraft, masts etc., and then finally, the disruptive 'Dazzle' paintwork!
It's good fun....
