I've fitted all the bits I need before I paint the camouflage on the aircraft.
When I dry fitted the fuselage, the joints didn't quite come together. This was because the positioning pegs and holes were too tight. So I snipped them all off - Wings as well. Sorted!
What is left will fill with paint.... :thumb2:

I diluted some of the supplied Dk. green with the light underside colour to give a lighter green for the cockpit and wheel wells. I also messed with the brown to give a bit of difference to the pilot's leathers etc.

Thanks Ralph.

Belly first.
I'm still using the sawn off runt of a brush I used for the Hurricane build, and as they are all the same colour, the paints too. I'm keeping the brush from this kit intact for any detail work on future models.

Hi Ron
Beautiful painting on the underside. Just so smooth and streak free :tongue-out3:
It will all come good I know. Good idea to mix the limited colours to give a better choice.

Thanks Jim. Nice one!.... :blow-kiss:

Here we go with the second coat of light and dark.
Looking a bit more respectable and a bit neater at the demarcation line.

I've also tarted up the cockpit and pilot.

Looking very nice Ron.:thumb2:

Neat to mix up the paints to get the desired finish for the wheel wells and office/pilot, what ingenuity can accomplice.:smiling:

Thank you Fernando. It would have been nice to paint the model 'Properly', but for the first kit rules is rules!

I've just noticed on the photo above, the black line in the middle of the fuselage is far from the middle at one end!..... :upside: Don't you hate photos?!

Out with the brush. It's a good job I freehand my painting or I might have ripped off the new paint re- applying masking tape....what a pest. Hey Ho.

Luckily it's good drying time in my den, so I've centred the black line in the middle of the fuselage. A minor thing, but it would have got on my tits to leave it.

Next up I'll tackle the upper surfaces of the aircraft.

Cheers.

A couple of brushed on coats of green proved to be enough to give a decent coverage.

I prefer the green instead of brown for the first colour simply because it shows up my camouflage pencil markings better.

Penciled up with plenty of 'B's and ready for the brown colour. Bit of a cob shade of green now, but I tilted the model to reflect my scribblings a bit better.

Thanks for the 'Like' chaps. Much appreciated.... :thumb2:

First coat of brown. This is very wishy washy and I use it thus to kind'a see just where I'm brushing with subsequent coats rather than too much thought to the actual coverage.

Looking good Ron.

I like the pencil idea, I'm nicking that one if you don't mind.

I've had a bit of a disaster!
After me praising the decals on the Airfix starter kit Hurricane I built, some of the ones with this kit disintegrated on touching the warm water.

Luckily I found some in my spare decal envelope.

I've finished the Spitfire as per rules but some of the decals are different. It's over in Completed Group Builds.

Thanks those who posted likes and comments during the build.
