hi there ..my next project is the spitfire mark vi (hasegawa 1/32).... need a little help with the paints required here:

as per the paint chart the colours are

upper surface ..khaki green and ocean grey

lower surface ..medium sea grey

cockpit colour ... not quite sure what to use here as the plans do not specify any colour

Has anyone got the references for either tamiya or life colour paints that I should be using using

tx a lot

Tamiya have only spray cans with the correct colours, that I know, if you are airbrushing you will need to start mixing.:smile10:

The rattle can colours are:

AS30 for the Dark Green

AS31 for the Ocean Grey

AS32 for the Medium Sea Grey

cock pit. Grey Green XF71 or there abouts

I used Xtracrylix on my Spitfire upper surfaces and they worked out ok. They have the official colours too.

Ian has named the colours correctly. Lifecolor don't do exact matches though they do a Dark Green and a Medium Sea Grey. You could always do a 7:1 MSG to Black mix for your Ocean Grey,as that's what the RAF originally did.

The Interior Grey/Green is not a million miles from Humbrol 72.

Cheers
