Excellent Choice Steve,
I really enjoyed the Flyhawk pzII ‘Luchs’ a while back and have come close to picking up this kit a few times.
Looking forward to seeing you tackle something modern.

Hi Steve - I have this one and the Luchs sitting here along with a Hummer. All extremely well detailed - probably not needing chopping in half or any additional details so why did I buy them???

I think the instruction sheets look fairly clear

A couple of odd things are the Abrams track being split down the middle and the Hummer tyres are quartered rather than the more usual one piece of front/back halves

Will be following

Looking forward to the challenge Lee. I am sure we will all have a lot of fun.:thumb2::cool:
The PE looks okay Rick. I may add a few bits also from the spares box.
I have already seen a couple of issues that will need sorting. Also I have some ideas for improvements so all is not lost Mr T.:smiling5: The design of the tracks was apparently to help the hiding of the sprue connection marks. Looking forward to seeing how it comes out.
Great to have you along for the ride Mick.

You can count me in too Stevie. I can't wait to see how you muck build up a modern tank. I find the tracks also very interesting. Never seen that in a kit (besides Dragon's US halftrack kits) before. The etch also looks not too tiny to work with. Should be fun….

BTW, the only thing I found under my seat was old bubble gum!!! Wazz up with that...………….

Oh dear - those tracks are rather crappy. Looks like a bit of a problem with the mould.

Didn't see any negative reviews before I bought mine so it may just be a one off

With the skirts on you can't see the top run so chould be possible to cut the good links off the top and graft them into the lower run if there enough to go around

Track - there are aftermarket links available in early, mid and late specs

For roughly same cost you could get a Revell and rob the tracks

Or

There is always scratchbuild your own set......

Steve,
Just a thought could you remove all the track pad detail and cut some new track pads from thin sheet. As Simon has said you will only need to do the front and rear sections as the top run will be hidden by the skirts and the bottom run will be on the floor.

Simon/Scottie I looked at the after market tracks and I have put an order in with a Russian supplier who will give me a price once they are in stock. I didnt realise they were available on Ebay. However the winner is - cut them out and stick them elsewhere. Why I didnt think of that DOH! I put it down to the fever:smiling3: Many thanks for all your help. I will crack on with the alterations and let you know how I get on.

Nice start Steve and nice looking improvements.:thumb2:
Too bad about the tracks but I’m sure you’ll make them look all right.
Hope the fever is totally gone now and carry on sir!
