Hi all , have come to an abrupt halt when trying to put the body on to the chassis, doesn't line up. had done before. I have put some photos up.

The rear fitted well , but then I thought the wheels look too far back, moving to the front, the springs seem to clash with the plastic lower section of body. just in front of the radiator doos. I've removed what I thought was the problem , slightly better fit, but not right.
So any ideas esp from anyone who has built this model .Will have to post this then add the photos from my phone.
Thanks John.

Just looking at the photos, I can see in no 6 that the linkage may be in the wrong place at the back, but this still doesn't explain to me why the front is so out.

Off to do some gardening to clear my head !:tongue-out::smiling4: will be back later.
John.

Have you determined the wheelbase is correct for the bodies' wheel openings? Incorrect, adjust more easily moved axle/spring assy., front preferred. Correct, adjust body mounts accordingly. You've done this before I think. PaulE

No Paul I haven't , I had better do that, yes thinking back to that PARC I had to do some major surgery, but this time I think I've done something wrong, but can't think what. Thanks for replying.

Shouldn't have got it without an MOT. Looks a problem and a half. All I can offer are best wishes.

George
Trouble with this kind of thing George, sold as good runner, little use since 1942. Thought it was a bargain. !

John.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Since my original post I left it for an hr did some gardening , came back had a long look and retried the fit, suddenly it locked into place, including sending the drivers doors flying on to the floor.

Looks ok now .

That scratch on the front wing was not intentional , but its looks right so will leave it.

Thanks Chris I've not been very successful with these chassis type builds, really fiddly, but relieved that this has eventually fitted.

See, just a matter of knowing where to hit it with a big enough hammer. A significant success old boy!

George
:smiling2: was relieved when only a door fell off , was waiting for the brakes sound of the plastic. Thank you George for your comments, they made me laugh :smiling3:.

Paul , thanks, I did as you suggested, all was ok, so it was just that sharp press that was needed, the thing you do with eyes closed ! .

Every job I start has at least one point at which I ask myself "Why did I bother?" It's when the little devil is sitting there finished and looking reasonable I get my answer.

Yes I think we do , I've been told by the driver Viktor that he thinks the engine fell out when he went over that hump. !
