The Mle.1897 Soixante-Quinze (modifie 1938)
Force Publique soldiers with modifie 1938 guns in the mid-1950s. These boys are from the Congo
Yeah, I’ll give you that one. They’re (apparently) actually American M1897 guns, but those are almost identical to the French-made guns AFAIK. The Belgians added 25-pounder-like platforms underneath, but I don’t know when exactly.

Should this be Jon's go as I basically copied his answer but added on?

My first thought was, “Don’t know, but it looks like a Tatra.” Turns out I wasn’t very far off the mark: it’s a Tatrapan, made in Slovakia based on the Tatra 815 and used by the Slovakian and Greek armies.

Yep that's it Jakko, initially it was designed for an APC but first use was fire control/ command centre

Over to you

Off by one, but I’ll take it :smiling3: This was actually based on the M108, when that was removed from Belgian service, but once the turret is replaced it’s exceedingly hard to tell the difference in the chassis. VBCL stands for Véhicule Blindé de Commandement et de Liaison, “Armoured Command and Control Vehicle”, issued at a scale of ten per artillery battalion where they served for command, fire control and communications. It seems to have only a French name, which is a bit odd as the Belgian army is bilingual Dutch and French.

Shall I, then? It’s Singapore’s NGAFV (Next-Generation Armoured Fighting Vehicle) with a remote turret.

Railway guns.jpg

What these are isn’t too hard to come up with. The more interesting question is where this photo was taken, and what was special about the place in this regard.

Right type of gun, but these are not those particular ones. You can actually tell that from this photo :smiling3:

This is not one of the two guns in the earlier picture, but it is in the same location.
