Not sure i can see the point of this, cannot see it going to be much of a kit to build and wouldn't think it holds much for weathering either as it was only fired at most a couple of times in anger. Will be a big lump of plastic in the cabinet though. Details on The modelling News Website

mmm...don't underestimate Yamato :tongue-out3: . The common standpoint is that Yamato mostly fired it's guns in anger. However this myth has been debunked already a while ago but it remains persistant. And while she didn't see much action for various reasons, she did manage to score the longest range hit ever during the Battle off Samar.
Maybe some people just want to turret to paint and weather it to put it in the cabinet without building the whole ship. Having that said, still not 100% sure wether this was a April fools day prank or not :D

Cheers

Takom also make 1/35 Naval weapons - a Russian 130mm turret & a Russian CIWS, so this is following the trend.....................

Now if it was one of the turrets from the Hood with all the interior and below deck sections, I could imagine a buyer or two for that.

Don’t forget the near-mythical status this ship holds in Japan. That turret is probably going to sell very well there.
