update on the engine block! i airbrushed the three new parts added, what a difference it makes! it’s just a shame that the rest of the hand brushed work is so shoddy:tears-of-joy:

Hi, if you want to start the engine again, although what you've done looks good, you can always use VMS Clean slate, works a treat used it myself. I found that knowing you can rewind the painting it makes it easier to do, not so daunting.
Have fun, that's the main thing.

Thanks, Bortig! I’ll look into it maybe, I don’t think it looks too terrible anyway.

job for tonight : continue on with the engine. this part involves lots of fiddly painting. i’ll probably prime all the parts first, then handpaint them. the journey continues!

slowly but surely getting there. need a coat or two extra on the primer but looking good otherwise! knocked over the bottle of vallejo black primer last night and it went EVERYWHERE. luckily enough it gave the first coat time to dry as i cleared it up!0184F741-5086-421F-8225-3ED085BAAA5C.jpeg0184F741-5086-421F-8225-3ED085BAAA5C.jpegB43CFA2C-89E7-4B1F-9FA3-BA256D021A69.jpeg0F926062-342A-46A0-A92C-0D8C4FEC3913.jpeg800A610F-BE86-4295-BF24-DB7B06B5C693.jpeg

Lachlan,
been there, done that! I've some abstract green patches under my workbench.............
Now, if I'm brush painting, I use a pallet, and if I'm on the airbrush, I use plastic shot glasses to mix up the correct consistency - At no point is an open paint pot ON my bench, it's only open in my hand. If I have an accident, it's only a small amount that needs cleaning up...............
