This is the last figure that I can make up from the box of spares given to me a while ago by Richard Pearce. All the parts are there, but I may try and equip him with an MG42 rather than the MP44 provided with the kit. Here are the various sprues

As for the paint job, I want to enjoy myself so I won't be doing camo. Instead I'll go for various shades of field grey to exploit the sculpting of the drapery. I don't feel so guilty about this, as I have done a full camo job in the past:

This one is ready for paint:

The scenario is that he will be holding the Soviet DPM machine gun, and have his MP40 slung on his back. I've also prepared a German MG42 in case that doesn't work out.

Looks like another super figure for the bench.

Has the original head made the grade or is it a sub anyway?

Good choice of weaponry, which will add some variety to the final finish.

Have fun with the drapery and 50 shades of Field grey too

Regards

Lee - Welcome.

Richard - That box of spares just keeps giving.

Steve - Yes, the head is OK on this one. Trying to decide on how to add variety to the field grey, though the main focus of the finished figure will be the gear.

Had a go at this myself after being inspired by your previous build - attempted the box art camouflage - absolute pig to do!! But overall really enjoyed it

Another great head and the kit head too, well done.

Looks like a real grey day ahead, hopefully it will be enjoyable with all the drapery and subtle shading to differentiate the components of the figure.

Have a good day with the paints

Steve - Yes, a miracle - a kit head! On to the jacket today and an early start to catch the light.

John - Richard predicted you'd like the DPM. A very dull day here and light gone by 2.00pm.

Here's where he's at:

I decided to use Vallejo Green Grey for the jacket to give a washed-out look. I'll use their standard Field Grey for the trousers to provide some contrast. I painted the gloves with Intermediate Blue, which passes muster as German mouse grey.
