I'm keeping up the painting practice with this little guy.
I have plans for a full Higgins boat so I wanted to trial the colours and techniques.
This one went quite quickly , built straight out of the box with a bandolier made from tissue paper. I got the matt lacquer right this time...... and I even coated him with KLEAR before I did the weathering.
And I used my new phone to take the pics which I am quite pleased with- considering I make zero effort.

The Big Red One. I can see him fighting for his life on Omaha beach. You have captured the moment well Neil. Lovely work

wow thanks Steve.
I didn't think of the setting until I'd finished so I'm pleased you made the connection. I only picked this pose because I knew I wouldn't be using it in the Higgins Boat, but it's turned out a lot better than I was expecting.
Maybe I should learn to have lower expectations generally- that way lies less disappointment, that's for sure!

thanks very much Jason
it's going to be while before I do any more GIs as I have my Scots Greys Charge to do.
Although I might sneak something else in between to keep my painting eye in...
