Another beautifully engineered kit by Tamiya. It went together perfectly, apart from a brief panic when I mixed up the left & right tracks!

Painting was my usual black primer basing, with light coats of Mr Color #511, early 4BO, to slowly build up a varied finish. This was worked on further by adding #54 Khaki Green into the mix for even more variety. The commander and the odd bit of detail painting was done with AK acrylics, and some light weathering with oils, pigments and AK pencils that I keep forgetting I've got!

I seem to be getting my confidence back, so I hope you like it as much as I do :smiling3:

Dang Andy,

That is one beautifully finished piece of Ruskie armor. Superb finish and the figure is the icing on the cake!!! Tip 'O Me Hat to you Scratchy!!!

Thanks everyone for the great comments.

It's another one that I really enjoyed building, it's just a pity I couldn't make it last for more than 4 days :smiling5: I think it deserves a base though, which will occupy a bit more time.

Nice tidy build Andy. You must be very pleased with how its turned out. I take it you used a chrome pen for the main light. I cant tell from the photo, but have you used clear resin for the lens??

Thank you chaps, I really appreciate it.

Paul - my best attempt with link & length tracks yet I think. I didn't clean the silver areas where the roadwheels run as well as I should, especially after taking the time to mask and paint it separately :smiling5:

Yes Steve, chrome pen inside the bowl, then a clear sprue lens included in the kit.

Hi Andy
That is very nice indeed. Love the splash of colour that the figure gives.

Thanks Nick.

And Tony, thanks. I'll probably do a blog of my next project and include more details of the painting, in case anyone's interested. I stopped for various reasons, but I'll give it another shot and see how it goes.

Very nice Andy. I especially love the details that I would never think of doing - like the worn paint on the front of the hull where the cables would have been rubbing. Obviously no detail too small for you! :thumb2:
