Eight-out-of-ten Matildas should be in Caunter schemes...
Says the man whose only completed A12 is BEF
Particular praise for your weathering, and that the Caunter stripes shouldn't go up the mud chutes... just gunk coming down them

If we’re making remarks about that, may I add the colour isn’t right? :smiling3: The real thing was Portland Stone (light sand) at the bottom, Silver Grey (a pale grey-green) in the middle and Slate (medium-dark greenish grey) top. (Source: The Caunter Scheme by Mike Starmer, 2013 edition.)

That said, I understand where the light blue-grey comes from: almost everyone got the colours wrong until 15–20 years ago, and most model kit manufacturers still recommend the wrong colours in their instructions, because they simply never updated them in the light of more recent research.

Agreed, the Starmer book is just about definitive - and should probably be required reading for any manufacturers approaching the subject - Tamiya were sorta kinda going the right way
And the only time you're allowed to use bright blue for a Matilda is if you're recreating the one that used to be in th IWM
The one Airfix based there's on
Still a v.nice job there, Warren

I know nothing about armour, but that looks like a brilliant model. Great work.

I like it too.

Please note. Praise and encouragement do no harm!

Great finish, Warren.

Really nice job, I’ve mainly given up weathering on aircraft but I find it much more enjoyable to do on tanks. Having seen your excellent job has given me enthusiasm to do another piece of armour, probably a Churchill.

Hi Warren, apart from the wrong colors...not your fault, the rest is spot on for me. I like the weathering. The Matilda has character in any way its painted.

Cheers,
Richard
