Hi - finally got round to starting the second Marder - this one is Tamiya's Marder III Ausf M

Obligatory box & sprue shots …

Fruilmodel tracks (the box says these are for a Hetzer but they are generic late pattern 38T tracks) and RB turned metal barrel for the PAK 40.

Typical Tamiya production quality - no flash and no pin-marks to shout about.

Off to a flying start Mark .
Seems I’ve built quite a few vehicles on the 38T chassis including X2 Marders both of which where Ausf H....look forward to seeing how this goes together:nerd:

Massive fan of the Marders. Needs some planning for knowing when to paint the subassemblies. Looking good so far.

I know what you mean about the sub assembly challenge. Currently I have left off the ammo tubes as I need to drill them out to actually accept the rounds. I have some RB brass on order. I will be adding some “chicken wire” mesh as used to hold camp and I am undecided whether to put a base coat on where I am going to put it before.

Looks interesting Mark, like the idea of putting chicken wire for holding camo on.

Jump forward some weeks - I thought I'd taken more in-flight photos but If I did I don't know what I did with them!

The (almost) finished article (I'm still debating whether to hang the "chicken wire camouflage netting on the sides and I've mislaid the notek light)

As far as the GB is concerned I'm calling it done...

A good finish Mark, camo & stowage set it off nicely.
