Been awhile about 4or5 years and thought i would start with something simple!!!!! had this kit for awhile and really wanted to restart with an easy project. And that why i chose this bad boy of motocross, i hope i do it justice as i have built up a small collection of bikes to build and add to my collection so here is the first post. Also a couple of the older bikes and a couple of aircraft i fancy making.i will keep you posted with the progress of the build simontie

well a productive weekend, I missed this still juggling with house and all the other duties I have (shmbo) but I did manage to stick the engine and frame together rub down and prime them and top coat matt and gloss coat them...
engine is a matt finish and frame gloss both black I also dropped the chrome parts in to bleach the chrome just looks wrong on the related items coil, cdi, spark plug & exhaust port are never shinny even when new !!! well not this shinny anyway will coat with an aluminium colour. pics for your comments enjoyment digs what ever takes your fancy :rolling::rolling:

Thank you, and i hope it turns out better than the kit, the parts i bleached almost worked as in it stripped the plating and that was fine but when i emptied them out i dropped the container in the sink needless to say there is no strainer in the sink managed to salvage 2 bits from the u-bend the rest ended up in the sewer as luck would have it the manhole cover is at the back door so i managed to save all but 1 out of 8 pieces luckily we dont share the waste pipe and it was a clean as these things get what a muppet couldn't believe i done it. Stopped biting my nails now lol

Simon, a worst nightmare when that happens, at least you were able to get into the drain itself. I can just image how you must have felt seeing them disappear like that .:surprised::disappointed:

1/6th gives some scope for detailing - will you be re-spoking the wheels?

probably..... NOT they are a real pain to paint all shiny in chrome plate, I have in the past built wheels for real M/C but not on a model (yet).
will see how we progress with the level of detail

due to some gardening duties haven't managed to get much done but here is a small up-date on progress
mounted carb and air box added some breather pipes & over flow to the standard carb as shown on the real macoy. 20190806_183158.jpg20190806_183407.jpg
