All done. Just needs a plinth when I can find a suitable piece of wood. It's a fun little piece. Little being the operative word too - 50p shown for scale! Painted up as the 88th Foot (Connaught Rangers) storming the breach at Ciudad Rodrigo, with a mad ginger bastard leading the way.

Almost entirely done with acrylics, mostly Vallejo, apart from the officer's sash and hair which are Humbrol enamels.

Cheers chaps! It was a fun one. Loads of little details that only popped out once the paint went on.

Nice job. Good skin tones especially.

Thanks mate. I start off with a dark reddish brown base (see below), then used Vallejo 860 medium flesh with a bit of flat red added to make it more pinkish, then 815 basic skintone as a highlight. Again with a dab of flat red added.

It needs the red, they end up looking like the walking dead else.

Yep, VJ skin tones are a bit yellow out of the bottle, so a red brown undertone is useful. After all, we are basically a bag of red stuff covered by some semi transparent white stuff.
The VJ game colour flesh wash is that tone, by the way, as is their game colour flesh ink. Both are helpful for flesh painting using a wash technique.

Alex,

Sorry missed this first time around. That's a lovely little vignette there. Very well done indeed.

Hi Alex
That is a superb vignette. Very hard to believe it is so small. Great skill and a very steady hand :thumb2:

Thanks chaps! It's a lovely little piece. Can't believe it was sitting in a drawer for over five years before I got around to it.
