This is one of Young's Miniatures earlier issues I believe, the moulds of which have since passed on to another company, Galapagos Miniatures. In fact, I also have the Galapagos reissue, Velaf the Dragon Hunter of Mt. Zigma, in my stash as well, and I've actually used one of the spare heads from that set for this one - I thought the one that came with the Young's set was too bland and uninteresting, plus I liked the playful sneer of the Galapagos sculpt. However, it came completely smooth-faced so I added sideburns and goatee - and now it looks like Alvin Stardust in his heyday 
. This was a pretty straghtforward build and paint in all other respects, albeit quite intricate in some areas. The column upon which he sits is actually the handle of an old paintbrush, which I cut down and repurposed. I've accidentally made it ridiculously tall though...
I shall also be making Velaf very shortly, but before that I have a date with Alexandros Models' Nefertiti bust.... =)
