Hi all

So you may have seen the latest editions for this arrive a week or so ago.

These two purchases mean I now have all three Tamiya 1/72 Mossie kits, which I read somewhere are scaled down versions of their 1/48 kits.

Out of the bomber/PR kit I'm undecided as to which I'll go for, although the PRU version is tempting as I already have five British bombers in the stash , including a Mossie Mk XVI bomber.

Out of the fighter bomber/night fighter version, I think it might have to be the FB version. My initial research suggests that this NF version was not used on intruder missions or as part of 100 Group escort type missions - but it's still at early days. That said even if the NF version is an option, I already have one NF in the stash that I'll be building as part of the Mossie GB.

Hi all

So more arrivals contributing to this collection......I think I'm now up to 18 kits and 11 books for this, including these two.

A book on one the great bomber pilots and indeed human beings, recommend by Al Murray and James Holland on their podacast.....previously I've only ever read what was written in the old Dambusters account by someone....Paul Brickhill???

The second, as you may have seen arrived a couple of days ago.

Andrew I'm wondering how you managed to get all this into the house with out detection ?
At this rate you'll need a nother book case to display them .:smiling3:

Morning John!

Obviously they've not all come at once!!! ;) Can you imagine that!! :smiling5::smiling5::smiling5:

Some came to work pre-lockdown, when we were both in the office full time, as the post room were ok about personal deliveries. Some I've got lucky on in terms of timing too! But more recently, since I've been back in the office for a few days a week, I've been having eBay items delivered to a local convenience store using their 'Click and collect' in case they try to deliver when I'm out.

The best though was the Revell Dambuster kit .......my mate sent it to me as a gift on my 50th birthday.....my wife upon opening the door to Amazon asked me what I'd ordered......in all honestly I replied "Nothing.".....it was then she discovered the note from my mate (via Amazon) wishing me a happy birthday!

Bur you're right....I do need a new bookcase just for the kits.....the Stirling pushed me over the edge!

So realised at the weekend, when I was showing my mate the collection so far, that I had forgot to add this kit to the list.

Hi all

I realised that I had forgotten to update the list with some arrivals when I was about to upload the Halifax to the list.

The Hampden although a golden oldie comes with new decals.

The Mossie replaces the FB VI that sacrificed itself for Lonesome Polecat....but I think a NF Mk II might be appropriate for this collection as may be the case for a MK XII, for which I have the Quickboost nose.....so do I need to order two more of this kit??? ;) :smiling5:

The arrival of the Halifax means that I now have one example of every main medium and heavy British bomber (Manchester excepted).

In terms of supporting info, I've struck gold with both build blog info and historical info with the Halifax.

The owner of Scaling Modelling Now has done a highly detailed blog his build of this kit (HERE), which he has also published in a 72 page free to download PDF.

Furthermore, on the Aircrew remembered website (HERE) there is a 12 page article on the RCAF squadron, the plane and the crew for the flight in which it was lost.
