Thanks all...it really is encouraging to get such positive feedback... I’ve done a little more but not enough to warrant any pics as yet...it’s all this home schooling I’m doing these days!!!......the insignia on the shoulder boards are LAH so I think I’m going to have a go at freehand painting of the cuff title which could either be fun or a disaster.
Anyway thanks for your support
Jason

Hi all
Just a bit of progress to report on the figure....34A7F3C7-C45F-46E6-A07D-5B2CCCB2BF5F.jpeg
As I said at the beginning of the thread there was so much going on that it kind of gets lost in the camouflage on the box art so I’m glad I persevered with the black tunic... still quite a bit to do even so...

once again,
Thanks for looking in and hopefully more progress soon,
Jason

Jason,
Looking very nice indeed i love the fact you can see the piping on the hat through the googles.

Thanks Andrew!

Cheers Scottie... the goggles were quite a challenge so Im glad they seem to have worked out... as the piping is effectively painted on the surface of the goggle lens, I thought it might not line up so that it looks like they are below where the paint actually is ( does this make sense???) but somehow... more by luck than judgement it seems to do the trick.

Thanks Chris... that's the look I was going for!

Thanks again
Jason.

Nice work on the black uniform Jason. The insignia and awards really pop as a result.

Cheers chaps.... thank you very much...
Just dry fitted the head to get a look at what it should come out like.

Next it’s onto the left arm and the cuff title which may or may not come into being...the LAH cuff title is in a rather ornate script which could well prove beyond my capabilities....anyway I made a start by masking off the black of the ribbon and adding the white trim

The tape didn’t work very well but at least it gave me an edge to work on...

I’m not going to do any shading on the arm until I’ve managed the script as if it doesn’t come out right then the last hour or so getting the cuff done will be in vain as it might just have to do in plain black!!!
Thanks
Jason

Good luck with the cuff-title Jason - the sort of thing I can't do at all. I know you'll pull it off.

You should be happy Jason - excellent lettering. I wish I could do that.

Thanks guys... very much appreciated!!
The main torso is just about done now although as the figure leans forward much of the detail will be lost inside the Tiger cupola...
The head is also facing downwards so that’s not particularly prominent either...I did have a fairly low base for this but I think it would look better on a slightly higher plinth?
Thanks again
Jason
