Calling this done, I have spent hours weathering and trying various paints to get a really slimy look.

I also added some brass round...things...they are the ends from 1/16 bolts to the base to make that more interesting.

So, fellow members may I present my latests (I have already made 4) sunken 'crusty-rusty' sunken sub.

YES i aggree with Ian It would look even better sitting in/on the bottom of the sea.
these subs look very realistic as though they have been sunk in w/w 2 very well done Si an PLEASE could you fit them on in full size pics as the thumb nail pics dont show up very good on my laptop an your work deserved to be seen

Cheers Ian, this one has gone to a new home, hence on its original base. Know what you mean though, the first one I made was on a base.

Many thanks Chris, really chuffed you like it. As for the thumbnails, have you clicked on the picture, it is bigger than the ones you see on the page.

Great effort Si, looks really convincing

Thanks Mick, glad the effect worked, like all modellers, you never know if a certain paint technique is going to work.
