Hi Barry
As always your work is so neat and well thought out. Shame the paint may be spoiled with further work but you would have never got paint coverage.
Take care in the storm and hang onto those fences;)

I have glued the top and bottom fuselage halves together. These are big sections and I decided to position the port half, glue it and when dry do the starboard half. I am now waiting for the starboard side to set solid before cleaning up joins.

The pictures show the cockpit area just dry slotted into place to test fit it. There is a bit of a ridge at the cockpit, rear fuselage join but that Is without testing to see if it cannot be better positioned. I will return to that at a much later stage, still a lot of work to do before I fit the cockpit area. One thing I noticed is how the model sits down on the u/c so there was no need to weight the nose after all..

This is one big model and it is important to plan ahead. So now let’s take an overview of where we are at...

Some wheel well parts in the process of painting and weathering.

some miscellaneous parts removed from the sprue, some painted, some just primed. A lot of pieces there for the canopy.

more painted parts

wing parts which i plan to paint before attaching.

the main airframe. I need to re-prime for a final check of the seams. Also a few more parts to add before I paint the camo.

The cockpit assembly. This will need masking and an overall primer coat for a hopefully final seam check. There are a few more parts to add beforehand though.

I have sorted the sprues for the payload that I will be adding. A targeting pod on one shoulder mount, a Phoenix on the other, a pair of Sidewinders, plus a bomb load on the centre racks. I have looked at a lot of photos and configurations.

This final picture is of the box with the sprues and parts not needed.......I will have to get a new spares box with this lot added....

A bit more work.

The cockpit under a few running repairs prior to fitting the front transparency and masking ready for what I hope to be the last primer coat.

work on fuel tanks etc... a bit of sanding to do.

Two quick pics.

I have done some masking and applied primer on the two main airframe subassemblies, after doing some seam sanding. It is getting there but they need another 'treatment' so another bead of Mr Dissolved Putty where needed left to cure overnight and then a bit more sanding...

Look at the starting post of this thread, there is a picture of the Milspec decals I am using.

There is still a lot to do before I get to that!!

Well right now I am sat at my bench scratching my head.

There is a lot of ordnance with this kit but I cannot find any rails to fit bombs to the Phoenix racks!!!

My plan was a pair of JDAMS on the rear rails and a pair of GBU12’s on the front, a LANTIRN at the right shoulder, Phoenix left shoulder with a pair of Sidewinders on the side racks.

There is nothing in the instructions about rails to fit bombs to the Phoenix racks and looking through the sprues nothing is provided.

Right now it looks like being a BombCat with no bombs. There are racks for bombs at the shoulders but that does not look right to me with four Pheonix down the middle.

It looks like a standard air defence configuration of two each Sparrow and Sidewinders and four Pheonix.

I will do some on-line research to see if I have missed anything tomorrow.
