Cheers Paul. I haven't decided what he's saying yet.

Hi Peter
Definitely a good idea to include a head. Certainly completes the figure nicely :tongue-out3:
Seriously though it is excellent. You have cracked these pieces where the tones/intensity (whatever the term is) are limited.

Steve - You're a rude person.

Ralph - Cheers my man.

Jim - Yep, a head helps you get around for sure. Could go further with the tonal contrasts, but I find upping the ante difficult.

He's done:

100_5642 (2).JPG100_5643 (2).JPG100_5634.JPG100_5645.JPG

So to finish off, I first painted and attached the arms. They took a while, as the direction of the light needed to be considered - I also found that the facial tones needed to be adjusted to match. I next added the flashlight and a couple of grenades.

Lastly, I painted the radio and M16, mounted them with the figure on a base, then added the final touches of the rifle sling, radio aerial and handset cord - the latter is a bit over-scale, but the best I could do. The material on the base is indoor-plant mulch.

Hi Neil. I'm lucky enough to have the time to put in. My granddaughter did decide to rearrange my paint box today, so that did hold me up a bit.

Wow, just gets better Peter. Love the whole thing, can't see anything wrong with the radio cable scale wise, looks right enough.

Morning Peter

Noah is stuck in traffic trying to get to the timber merchant to buy more lumber!

We are flooded, and more to come!

Lovely work and a great return to a smaller scale after all your bust work.

Looks like a full weekend with family.

What's next on the bench? More of the smaller figures or another bust?

Have a good weekend and don't get washed away

Regards

Steve H

Morning Peter - as John says radio cable looks fine

I notice you correctly coloured the top of the smoke grenade but what about the grey band and lettering?

The M26 fragmentation grenade should have some yellow text

I'm sure your painting skills are up to it

Thanks for your appreciative comments chaps.

Steve - Keep those knees dry. Another Vietnam figure next.

Simon - No confidence doing the lettering on the smoke grenade, so left it off - I could have ordered decals, but they're quite expensive. I know the fragmentation grenade should have a yellow band and text, but again, I just can't do lettering.

Wonderful work Peter. Like the addition of the dirt marks on the trousers. Lots of nice attention to detail. Great stuff
