Sorry I'm really late in on this most excellent project of yours Joe. I must have been drunk and asleep in the corner.....Super job on the gun etch and camo, but the house is tops Sir. May I ask what you used for the thatch on the roof???

One day I have to give painting figgies a try as your bunch look fantastic!!!

Prost
Allen
Thank you Allen and glad you are awake and sober for the moment at least..lol

I used Woodland Scenics products woodland-fg172-harvest-gold-field-grass-28973-p.jpg
using different colors of field grass and kind of just blended them together on the bench before cutting them into lengths and then attached them with white "Elmers" glue which was diluted a bit. I then sprayed everything with Woodland Scenics scenic cement to stiffen all of the thatching up prior to the start of the snowfall

Hi Joe, I recently had a look at woodland scenic products at a local art shop. Quite a wide range of interesting stuff well packaged and suited for times like these when venturing out is quite restricted. I'm a scrounger and most of the stuff I picked up when I see on my travels into woods and DIY shops. Lichen, moss, sand and stones are free. The tall grass I get from cheap Chinese broad varnish brushes.
Anything imported would affect pricing so I guess what's cheap and expensive here is the reverse over on your end.

Cheers,
Richard

Okay well here is the finished product... icicles for Mr Race,,,(hoping that he won’t bring out the blow torch to melt them all… Although the troops might like the warmth)

all in all I am pleased with the end result to this little vignette

Lovely job on this Joe. The snow effects are the icicles on the very cold cake!

Nice...they're huddled figuring out how to fix this flat pack from Ikea together for the AT gun.
Looking good but I have a question if you'd like to hear it, Joe?

Cheers,
Richard

Sure Richard what is your question
Joe, it's just a silly question. just wondering, I know the base is quite small and congested, I'm assuming the crew is preparing for an ambush. If not then would the guy at the front be better not showing his back to the enemy. He does look agitated by his crew and that in itself also can tell a story on the lighter side of things. Love the icicles...that's something you don't see every time in a dio.

Cheers,
Richard

Richard,

I think that both you and Paul hit the nail on the head,, he is agitated because his ground crew hasn't fired a single bloody shot out of that IKEA cannon yet... and if they don't fire soon or move to a different position, he's gonna end up with a shell or two in his behind...lol

thanks for the compliment on the icicles... the R&D department did a decent job on the development of them...I kept sending them back to the drawing board ...
