Nice work on the washed out uniform, unusual named colour combination but German Uniform seems to be a "go to" colour these days.

The highlights do make it pop, more so than the box art which looks flat and bland by comparison.

Nice one.

It looks more and more like the last months of 2020 are going to be tough for everyone, especially if you are in hospitality and entertainment.

We all have to hope for the best!

Looks like another good day with the back of the figure and the camo roll/poncho?

Enjoy the pre Bank Holiday build up

Regards

Steve - Nowhere near the box art, but thank you. German Uniform certainly is a useful colour - I'd never have thought it would work for washed out USMC denims, but I'm glad I gave it a try. Another two days to finish I think - back of the torso today, then poncho, helmet straps and machete handle the next day.

John - I'm humbled by the five thumbs up. Thank you. Quite a way to go yet before it's finished.

Richard - Glad you like him so far. That job sounds interesting.

The back of the torso:

Just the accessories to do now:

Poncho roll, helmet straps, machete handle and cigar.

The poncho had a unique camo pattern and was reversible:

I'll probably go for the green.

Great work. He looks very suitably sun tinged on the back of the neck!!

Looking really good Peter, I think the green poncho will be easier to paint.

Progressing well and more super drapery work on the back pack too.

That poncho is a tough one!

There doesn't seem to be an easy option, both do look very busy!

Have fun with that one!

Its bright and breezy but damned cold too!

Seems like we might break the record for the coldest August Bank Holiday, and possible frost in the morning!!

Have a good day with the paints and that poncho!

Steve - Wet, windy and cold here too - isn't it still meant to be August? Just finished the bust and am completely camoed out. Pictures anon.

Jason - Cheers that man.

Will wait with bated breath then Peter.
Weather the same here, right in the middle of a largish garden job as well .:disappointed:

Hi John - here he is, finished:

I started today's session by painting and attaching all of the smaller parts; cigar, helmet straps and machete handle. Then it was on to the rolled poncho, and boy, was it tricky. I found I had to simplify the pattern somewhat, and have left out an intermediate green colour, but hopefully it's close enough to the actual design.

Very well done Peter, the poncho looks great, as does the whole thing.
