I feel for you! I have stripped the thread before on one of my ‘lesser’ airbrushes. It is a real danger with such small nozzles.
This is one of the reasons I like Harder & Steinbeck, they not only have larger nozzles that are easy to handle and see but they are a push in type, no threads to...
This is correct. These days I always purchase without logging in and using PayPal.
I realise that I don’t get or use discount vouchers but I have had endless problems logging in since a forum change some years ago. Got fed up with asking John for help with it and now don’t bother.
In built up the tail/stabs and then realised that they won’t slide onto the location points due to protrusion from the flap attachment. You were meant to attach the flaps after sliding the tail on. I suspect the theory behind it was to lock the tail in place with the flaps.
You can see the...
More progress.
The canopy fitted very well. I did have some minor adjustments to make to the inner frame but nothing to worry about.
Reviews suggest that the top inserts are a little too wide for the fuselage. Solutions tried include using plastic sheet to make the fuselage wider.

It’s what called ‘oil canning’. I believe the first kit to depict it was the 1/24 Airfix Typhoon. The new 1/32 A20 Havoc from HKM also has it. It really sets this kit apart from the HK 1/32 Lanc.
I have been fitting the cockpit frame. This need a lot of patience as it needs to be done slowly. The windscreen is cemented firmly into position and I have started with the centre piece. The first step is to cement the piece sticking out of the front to the top centre of the windscreen. This...
i have been working on various nose detail parts.
I have a bit more work on the above before I fit them.
I have also test fitted the rear fuselage.
I am pleased with the fit.
Below you can see some of the work behind the ‘pit.
Below you can see a bit of a gap between the front and...
It is very delicate and I am aware that in many kits it was broken and warped. Luckily in mine, along with the transparencies, it is in good condition.
I found that the top-rear insurt fits perfectly. Glued into place I then attached some aerial and a screen.
I have also been working on the internal canopy framing getting it ready for airbrushing.
There is just a little filler needed in three places where the fuselage joins will show...
That is a somewhat strange comment. Long before the kit was released and while WNW were still developing the kit WNW announced the Cockpit version and had a mock up on display at Telford. And, yes the Mk I/III did sell well enough for them to release the Dambusters version as well.
Border’s 1/35 scale kits are of no interest to me, I won’t touch them with a barge pole. I am only interested in 1/32 (and the odd 1/48). I am certainly not saying that their own kits are any good at all.
The Lanc is different as they did not commission/design it and only bought the moulds...
Hi Chris. No, not really. There could be all sorts of reasons for such issues and I do not rule out something I did. In this case the model was designed by Wingnut Wings of course, Border bought the moulds and had no idea what WNW intended for instructions order of build etc. Also WNW had not...
