Dive-in at the Lido 4th October and 22nd November 2009
02 Jul, 2009 - 10:10 AM - by Subculture
Might seem early to be thinking about winter Dive-in's, what with all the balmy weather we've been enjoying over the past week or so, but it'll soon swing around and as the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm!

So here we have the two remaining dates for 2009. First run is on Sunday 4th October, and the second on Sunday 22nd November. The time slot is 10:00am until 4:00pm, although it's generally best to turn up early as some people do leave early.

As before, entry is free, thanks to the generosity of Fusion for allowing us the use of their splendid facilities at no charge.

I'd advise bringing your own refreshment and food, as no cafe facilities are open during the winter months. However there is a kettle for hot water, and power sockets are on hand for those wishing to recharge their batteries.

I'd like to thank Ramesh for stepping forward and volunteering to organise the November Dive-in, so please make the effort to come along and take part during the day.

I will send out a further reminder nearer the day. In the meantime if those of you reading this can spread the word amongst local clubs, friends, model shops etc. that would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Andy

M4 Sherman (Early Production)
01 Jul, 2009 - 2:00 AM - by beav1013
Here's my second tank, Tamiya's M4 Sherman (Early Production) kit. Made pretty much straight from the box, but I added crochet thread for rope and floral wire for the antenna. Painted with Testor's enamels and Tamiya acrylics. Weathered with chalk pastels and an oil wash.

Took me a couple weeks on and off, but I am pleased with the results. Any comments or critiques are welcome.

I had previously finished Tamiya's Chieftan which was 1/35 scale, as is the Sherman, but the figures on the Chieftan look a little bigger. Not a big deal, but I'm a little concerned in case I ever want to make a diorama with separate figures from different kits. Has anyone else noticed slightly different looking figures on 1/35 scale kits?

Thanks.

» Posting on the forum
Every now and again I get an email from someone who has joined yet can't workout how to post, I thought for every person that emails me there's probably several that haven’t and have not posted and not come back, which is a great loss, so this is a quick beginners guide to posting on the forum.

There are several ways but with out complicating things these are the easiest on the main page of the forum you will see a listing of each forum available you will also notice that there are 2 small icons near the middle of the page, one is a magnifying glass the other is like a notepad icon, if you press that on the forum you would like to post in it will go straight to the post editor box

All you need to do is put in your title. Type your message and press the Submit New Thread button, it's that easy

To reply to a post there are a couple of way of doing this.

Just above the fist post and just below the last one is a Post Reply button, that will take you in to the full screen editor the same as post new thread, or you can use the Quick Reply box, this one's even easier, type your message and submit it and finally there is the quote post button, that shows at the bottom of every persons post, it enables you to quote a post in your reply.

Hope this has helped, if not let me know and I will expand this

John
