Always harder than you think to make things like this line up perfectly.

The Takom model looks like a better detailed kit than the Tiger one that I built awhile back.
I have fond memories of driving that vehicle back in 1969, however the stick mounted break neck electronic clutch took some getting used to.
I am following with interest.

My buddy built the Tiger kit with all the very nice interior detail. I thought that was better than decent.

I'm looking forward to seeing the interior of your Eland.
Nah, not happening. The exterior has been a blast, but I'll give the interior a big pass, thank you. As such there is no interior option for the Takom kit. This makes the Tiger kit better in my opinion.

That is a pity Gavin.

Whilst working on the front end, I suddenly realised that the mounting brackets for the sand ladder were wrong.

The needed to project further forward with a channel carrier as the SADF variant carries the ladder differently.

Oh, yes I had to source headlights as the SADF variant has them on top of the fenders, where they are better protected when boonie bashing.

Till the next update.

Those headlights look rather a lot like the ones from a Leopard 1 or 2.

Colour me pleased with my scratch built sand ladder brackets.

Added a storage tube down the side of the hull and a cable reel on the side of the turret.

Next are the lights and some other odds and sods.

Till the next update.

Just added the exhaust.

The head lights as well, both required minor surgery to locate.

The wheels were slimmed down to accommodate the new lugged tyres.

Very pleased with my progress, next are the bush guards for the lights.

Till the next update.

Well, that is about that as far the mods are concerned.

Did the bush bars for the headlights, fitted additional plating on the RH door, mounted the water jerry can on the LH door. Mounted a roll of cammo/tarp to the back of the turret plus handles and hinge to new storage box added earlier to the rear of the turret.
