My son is wanting a book about the Bismark for his birthday and obviously, as i'm a wingy thing guy, i have no idea about these things. Can anyone recommend a decent cheap book about it?

Does he want the history or the tech side of the ship.
Anatomy of the ship: Bismark has a good amount of both.

it's probably more the history of the ship. I'll ask him when he gets back in from cadets tonight

The Anatomy of the Ship books are stunning, the drawings are superb, especially if you're making a model from scratch. Design, development & history, not so much, more a summary...........

Well he's in from cadets and says it's more about the history of the Bismark that he's interested in. I've just gave him the 'Death of the Scharnhaust' to read so that'll keep him busy for a week or so.

I think that one of two of the replies overlooked that Alan was looking for a cheap book about the Bismark. An internet trawl should find something suitable about the history and inexpensive.
