Very good Ron, that looks great! I think a step-by-step guide is next, maybe a video? ;)

Thanks for the great comments boys...

Andy, do us all a favour and just concentrate on your superb SE5-A. That was one awful pun!!!!!!

Dave, make sure you bring loads more stirrers to Cosford...running short now!

I might try and incorporate those buildings into this somehow, but I will need to trash them a bit if I do, and I'm a bit loathed to do that really. We'll see....

Patrick. A video? It takes me all my time to press the right buttons to access Scale Models! Way out of my league I'm afraid, but thanks for the rather flattering suggestion, it's much appreciated.

However, I did contemplate doing a mini 'How I do it' sort of thing, but seeing the excellent stuff on S.M. from others, it's rather like teaching people to suck eggs!

Cheers,

Ron

Hi all,

Here's an update on progress:-

I have made all the 'Bits' for this model...I think!

Also, whilst fiddling and faffing, I have quite unashamedly 'Nicked' our mate Bobby's great 'Cafe' idea and painted some wording to the end of the building, and weathered them in a bit..... Thanks for the idea mate!

I have also finished the pavement and road. Take a good look, 'cos next time they could well be covered in rubble!!lol

Cheers,

Ron

Ron mat e this is outstanding work, you will have to come over to the house one day and show me exactly what you do, i still haven't developed the knack of this yet and it would save me money on miniart stuff.

Thanks boys for your positive posts....

Scott, Sounds like a good plan....I'll be in touch soon via a P.M. so we can arrange a date and time for me to get up to see you (and the family of course!)

Aaron, just for you, and 'cos it's freezing out, I've done the rubble! Might add a few more bits, don't know yet...

With regards to this house building lark, I've had a few requests to explain my method of doing things, so if it would help I am thinking of doing a basic 'How to' thread.

Any thoughts folks?

Here's a few pictures. Next I will add the figures, crack my usual can, have a look to see if I can add anything more.

All comments, critisisms and or suggestions happily received.

Cheers,

Ron

If it wasn't for the progress shots you've shown us Ron, I'd swear you'd taken a pic of a real building and got Justine to Photoshop it for you! Or did you take a series of pics of a derelict building being gradually cleared away and then show them in reverse order? :lol

Yes please. Any 'How to' advice would be very gratefully accepted.

Thanks chaps for all your great comments on 'me 'ouse'!

Once I've finished this, I will put together summat to show how I built the various elements of this model and the earlier derelict farm.

Thank you for encouraging me to do a 'How to' thread. I hope it will be of some use to you.

Cheers,

Ron

Thanks for the compliments on my model and encouragements for a 'how to' boys.

I have finally finished this diorama.

Thanks to everyone who had contributed during the build. I learned so much when constructing my derelict farm dio, that it put me in good stead to have a go at a really trashed building.

I will post the completed model as soon as I can.

Thanks again,

Ron
