Took a bit of a break and did some fishing then decided to order this nice kit from Airfix. Been a long time since I made an Airfix kit having stuck to Revell most of the time but this one was very good. The instructions and paint guide are very nice and clear and the parts are well made.

Going to enjoy painting this one up the camouflage pattern is going to be done free hand with my airbrush. Any way here's the kit.

I'm starting to develop a thing for Airfix kits. Especially the new stuff they produce, it must be something to do with building Airfix as a kid.

Yes I made them as a kid and the new kits seem pretty good I must say. This ones coming along nice now I even attempted a weathering wash that is looking good. Will post pics tomorrow.

This one is all done now it was great fun to make in fact I think I enjoyed making this one more then any of them I have made so far. Being able to put all the methods used in the others into practice has made a big difference I think this is my best one so far.

Used super glue for the wires much better clear fix for the canopy fixing. The wash was a pastel stick shaved off and mixed with water and washing up liquid. Used Klear for the glossing and microset for the decals. All those things I picked up as I started on this journey making German planes. Its been great fun making them all cant wait to get started on another one.

Thanks very much chaps have got to grips with my airbrush now and doing those small blobs was quite easy with a bit of practice. Now the big question is what plane to make next? I think it might have to be a spitfire but still edging on the German planes any suggestions?

I'm building Revell's 1/72 He 177 "Greif" at the moment and it is a very nice kit. It'll take you a little longer though!

Nice job on the 109 BTW. That desert camouflage always looks cool.

Cheers

Thank you Colin, it was fun to do as well. Think I will try a spitfire next give me a break from German planes. I was treated to the Grace Spitfire a fortnight ago at the Seething air show so thinks its about time I made one.

Cheers Ian this one was very satisfying to make.Seem to be spending all my spare cash on my model collection at the moment but its better then spending it on many other things I can think of. Quite tempted to make a little scene with pilots and ground crew next time round.
