Hi all,

Does anyone know the diameter of the front plate of the GUA-8 fitted to the A10's ? I need a 1/35 front plate, but it maybe that a 1/32 will fit onto the model of a KASHTAN i am building, if i can work out the dimensions from the real one, hope that makes some sort of sense ?

Many Thanks.

I measured the one on my 1:72 a10 as 3.54mm, making a full size one to be ~254.8mm, and a 1/35 one to be ~7.2mm

In a similar vein my 1/48 is 5.1mm, which scales to ~245mm or ~7mm, so in the same ballpark as Dom.

Cheers both, that may just have worked, the diameter on the gun is about 7mm, so sanding and it may be a goer !, Didnt really want to have it with gun caps on and missiles away !
DAMM - the KASHTAN barrel arrangement is 6 and the GAU-8 is 7:confounded: :confounded: :confounded: , So after all this back to just using the kit barrel, TAKOM must have got hold of an early version of the system when they designed this kit.

I think the following two things together provide enough information to work it out:
the ammunition drum alone is 34.5 inches (88 cm) in diameter

Combine that with:—

and you can measure and calculate to find the diameter of the muzzle.
