I built this to try out some weathering technics before I do my Stuka and for some reason the mate coat has whipped them all out lol and tbh honest it hasn't covered very well I don't know why it's the same stuff I've always used!

The kit is the most simple build I have ever done and it's so straight forward you wouldn't even need the instructions it's that basic , the decals are awful looking and the red stripes on top of the aircraft wrinkled when I put the matt on again I don't know why it hasn't done it to any other decal

Here's the pics View attachment 87162

Cheers Ian I chose the grey so it would show the detail better as black would just show the outline and decals

It's a shame the matt coat softened the weathering so much

Glad you like it :smiling3:

That's a beautiful bird Alan! Simple kit maybe, but an impressive addition to your display shelf!

Great build Alan, it looks fantastic!

Gotta love the SR71, it looks futuristic.

I see its 72nd scale but what's it's dimensions, it looks a big bird!

Cheers lee , nose to tail it's 18.5 inches with a 9.5 inch wingspan , a fare size to be fair :smiling3:

Very good Alan.

I can't comment on color but painting and weathering are spot on.

Cheers joe I'm glad you like it , I'm not sure if the colour in the photo would be correct as those look like the NASA ones they used for speed and ceiling trills but it is a very good match I think :smiling3:

Very nice, the colour looks exactly like a scale black should do, to my eye.

The colour looks great. It's probably one of the most unusual aircraft I've come across, but then again, what a job it had to do.
