An enjoyable build overall, especially given the age of the kit. The decals were in very good condition. Except for the silly mistake at the end requiring repairs, all went smoothly I think. Build thread is here: http://www.scale-models.co.uk/planes-helicopters/17953-1-72-airfix-cac-boomerang-2.html

Cracking was an appropriate term to use earlier. :inv:

Nice to see it finished and the leg mended nicely! I do'nt know why but I love this airframe! Although it never garnered much attention, its still made some amazing contributions in very difficult conditions with some very brave pilots at the stick. Many being killed striking trees and /or the ground while straffing, let alone ground fire and even some friendly fire for that matter. Awesome mask job on the canopy! You've done a great job with it Joe, really enjoyed seeing another Boomer built! cheers Trey

Thanks Trey! The Boomerang was one of those aircraft that did a sterling job but never got the attention that others got. Some even drove off a formation of Betty bombers in 1943! In an army co-operation role with 4 and 5 Squadrons RAAF, Boomerangs had particular success with close air support and marking targets in coordination with Royal New Zealand Air Force Corsairs.

Now thats come out quite nicely !! I know they are horribly out of scale, but I'm quite fond of the Airfix rivets. And ditto on that canopy masking, nice work Joe.

Cheers, Neil

That turned out nice. I would never had guessed the decals were so old. The pilot looks good under that canopy. Nice job.
