AMARC F-16

For those that have not seen the build thread for this Dio it came about after another build went wrong.

Before this I had been toying with the AMARC idea for some time but wasn't sure which of the stash I wanted to use.

The F-16 is originally Revell's tigermeet 98 kit. The build was good but I messed the paint job up and so the AMARC dio came about sooner than I had planned.

The base was made with MDF that was given a rub over with course grain paper. I then worked out where I wanted the tressles placed and stuck them down. Next I used poly filler all over the board and left it to dry completely before using PVA to stick the two sand types down.

The dio base at this time looked a bit bare so I purchased some tufts of grass to give it a bit of life.

While this was happening I built the Tamiya Hummer and would recommend this kit to anyone.

It went together really well. The only grumbles I had with it was a couple of cast lines on the tarp and that they don't provide an open drop on the tail end. The latter I remedied with a sharp scalpel and a touch of plastic putty.

The figures are from the Hazegawa ground crew set with a a couple of slight adjustments to get them in acceptable poses. The trailer is from the Esci airfield accessories box with pylons coming from both the spares box and the original kit.

The snake was made out of Das air dry clay and painted.

All the weathering was done with Flory's products or artists soft pastels.

The back drop picture is credited to a guy called Deano who very kindly gave me permission to use it for this build. Deano's Page can be found here

I have also added a few moody pics without the back drop.

Superb work Terry, you salvaged the F-16 and turned this into a unique and very interesting little setting. I enjoyed watching the detail go into the build, and have to say the result is fantastic. Great build all round.

Great dio terry , very thoughtfully put together. I love the way the guy on the drop tank looks like hes just jumped up there to get away from the snake! the backdrop is very effective too , top job , cheers tony

As there was some of the images I wasn't happy with they have been taken off and some daylight ones added in their place. These have been done with the backdrop and I am happier with them.

Thanks you both for your kind comments. Si if it hadn't been for the guy letting me use the image for the backdrop it wouldn't look so good mate.
