Just had a read through and am very impressed with this build. Seems Airfix got it right....good progress on this Colin.....looking forward to the shiney stuff. ;)

Found it. After emptying my bin, the vacuum cleaner was next on the list, and there it was. The hydraulic ram from one of my Mustang landing gear doors.

Cling film for masking, it’s the future.

There’s a rather large yellow pin stripe under all that masking. Then the olive drab anti glare paint was applied. It’s a little bit shiny at the moment, but that’s what MRP does.
Masking removed. That’s a great advantage of MRP, it drys so quickly.
I couldn’t resist a bit of light chipping on the engine cover.

I could have sent him mine. I did not use them on mine. The wheel covers are closed when they are parked, so I didn't have to do to much in the wheel wells lol.

She is looking VERY nice in her 'birthday suit' lol.

The wheel covers are closed when they are parked,
They are, but as the hydraulics 'relax' they fall open. Which is really unfortunate as when hydraulic pressure is restored on engine start up, the doors close rather quickly.

It was a very satisfying moment.
