You might well have seen this same corvette sinking a U.Boat in a diorama I built here, but as I was 'Tidying things up' recently and realised I hadn't posted the completed corvette, naked nude on a stand, so if you will indulge me.....

Great kit and apart from a bit of rope work and 'Proper' anchor chains, is as usual O.O.B.

All brush painted and weathered with Vallejo Model Air acrylics and minus a rudder! (I left this off to simplify the burying of the hull in the diorama surface) and now I can't find the thing.... :upside:)

Nice work on this little Flower Ron.

Stirling work these boats did. Read the Cruel Sea by Nicholas Monseratt. Although fiction he served in these boats & there is a lot of what actually happened in his novel.

Interesting as the Royal Navy loaned Snowberry to Canada. The amazing support given by all of the now Commonwealth countries should not be forgotten. They were true friends & supporters of democracy. Always amazed how model making keeps all these important memories alive.

Thanks everyone.
I too have read the book. Although quite a few years ago.

Neil. Those are the exact same reasons I went for the 1/144 version. Still a great kit, fun to build and packed with detail.

Thanks again for the interest, boys.

Interesting that although manned by RMCS Snowberry wears the White Ensign.

Did all Commonwealth ships/boats do the same. Any body know ?

Sorry Laurie, I can't help. It was in the box, so I stuck it on.

No no you are correct Ron :smiling4: . Looked at photos & it is correct. Assume it was as it was still an RN boat.

HMS Achillies, of New Zealand fame battle of the River Plate, was also on loan from the RN until she became NZ property. Assume she was also wearing the White Ensign.

Got to say very nice model indeed. Admire you boat builders. Patience in the extreme. When I get through what I have which will take me to about 100 I may consider a boat/ship. Think it will have to be the Victory as it looks so easy :flushed:

That is a great result Ron. The paint finish and weathering are first rate.
