Awesome! An excellent paint job and subtle but effective weathering. The canopy frame is wonderfully painted, too. Did you airbrush the exhaust stains?

Hi Alex

Yes I did use an airbrush it was an Iwata BR with a 0.3 needle with a mix of dark brown and a drop of black.

Nice work Vaughan. Super paint work and the decals are not as bad as you had us (me) thinking.

Five star build!

Thanks for your comments guys.

Ian I don't think they look so bad in the photos but on the underside shot you can see, because of the poor registration, the red stars look almost 3D.

You know i love a russian vaughan! Excellent build , a 5 star job for sure. Tell me did you have the same result as i did ,with the P.E. hinges on the ailerons not really working after the paint goes on? Theyre a very tight fit arent they. Cheers tony

Looks great Vaughan, A vast expanse of green could have been trickey, but you've managed to vary it nicely. Nice one.

Thanks for all your compliments guys. Tony the PE hinges were a real fiddle. The problem I had was with the air brakes sticking once painted not the ailerons.

That is a real beaut. Once again you are making me feel inferior Vaughan. Clean as a whistle.

I do not go for heavy weathering but that is for me perfect & I must have a go at this.

Very nice indeed.

Thanks for that Laurie, you shouldn't feel inferior your Westland Wessex was a really nice build with some great paintwork. I try not to overdue the weathering and get a more subtle result which I think I achieved with the Mig.
