Well the Summer Fishing season is now on it’s way here and I’ve been Tying some Fly’s. Here’s some I Tyed last year. I’ll post what I’ve Tyed so far this year. Let’s see what lures you catch the Big Fish with Homemade or Commercial made. 15E9F63E-5754-4EB7-AE8E-B6B33B5F2F13.jpeg1D32A8E2-32AC-4655-AF76-F8E604A6571C.jpegFA8E4314-505D-4E3F-AD90-D1D918711818.jpegC35E5E4E-1146-48CC-9B8C-7CA901D0A36F.jpegFB3D39AD-B98F-41D8-9711-49228559EE6B.jpeg1B3F4523-0BEA-4855-8A6C-4C3CC640A59D.jpegF679FBEF-CC79-459A-AC37-734949766DDF.jpeg09133DAB-A976-4F2D-A0F7-2AD8744F1CCC.jpeg

I used to tie but after a pause of over four years I sold all my tying materials and tools. Still have about 200 flies somewhere.....Hmm
It was a good passtime, both tying and using them.

Your flies look very good. (didn't think I would ever say that to anyone! lol)

I used to have good results on Montana patterns, and Zonkers. Mirco midges also worked well around here.
Some of the better fish I have had on the fly rods.
10lb common carp. on a red chenille worm. That was fun.
A 2 kg mullet on a bread fly. (a bit of white foam from a pillow)
A 4kg pike on a 3inch fry lure, tied from a couple of black and white hackle whist fishing for sea-trout from the breakwaters at the coast!
LOL I even caught a trout once in a while.

I've always thought i'd love to give it a go. But if i am honest to myself, i would get bored of it very quickly and the equipment would just sit there.

Far easier to buy the flies and go fishing. But i can see the attraction of doing it.

Ian. Thanks for the compliment on my fly’s. Trout is probably my favorite fish to catch I like how they fight but when they’re done they’re done. Unlike a bass that keeps fighting you to your wore out or breaks your line.

Yes it is but the satisfaction of catching a nice fish with the lure that you have made and a pattern that you came up with is priceless. I got tired of paying the ridiculous high prices fly shops and bait shops were asking for lures many years ago so I decided to start making my own.

Have some OK sea trout fishing almost on the doorstep. I will have to try it one day lol.
Another local visitor here in Denmark are gar fish- the ones with the sword nose. They are great fun on a #4 flyrod. fight like nuts and loads or airtime!
Just remembered I had a 3 pound cod on fly many years ago while fishing for Makrel. That was fun. As is fly-fishing Makrel by the way.

Mackerel on the fly are really fun. Been a few years since i've tried for them though. I tend to go after the little Brown Trout these days. Normally carry my little wood gas stove with me so they go straight onto the bbq
