Super work at such a size!

I'm curious how I'm going to paint this without touching anything and breaking it off...
If you manage it, please share the secret lol! I'd expect myself to lose about half of that at least :tears-of-joy:

Now that is looking good, such a shame it has to be covered in paint.

On your next build drill a hole in the bottom of the hull for a screw and the turret use the method you have done for the hull....

I've just acquired one of these, sorry I missed the start of this. Will make sure I check it out before I do mine!

Thanks, friends!

I finally managed to paint most of the details. And so far I haven't actually destroyed anything yet!
Next there will be a coat of gloss varnish, decals and pinwash.

The vehicle has exactly the opposite "problem" as my last model. The AEC Armored Bus had a boring shape but an interesting camouflage. Here it is the other way around. The little Scimitar has a lot of details - but unfortunately a boring monochrome paint job. :smiling5:

Looking great, the detail on the tracks in such a small scale is superb. You could paint it in the usual Green/Black camo.

You could spice it up with some cool decals.
Of course! Today was decal time! Unfortunately, the options are very limited if you stick to the original.
Very cool that! That's a nice bit of paintwork
Thank you Arnold!
Coming along very nicely
Thank you very much Ian.

Fiddly but very nice. Unfortunately, all Scimitar Mk.2s were painted just in "(British) Nato Green" after they were taken back from Afghanistan. So no camo this time.

I finally found an original vehicle that at least has a tactical number. So that will be my model.
The original with the registration "NG52AB" belonged to the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and was part of an exercise in Estonia in 2020.
In addition to the usual insignia, it also bears the tactical number "64 A" on the back of the turret storage box.

Since the kit's decals only contain the laser warning sign, a set of license plates (only the white font), and a Union Jack, I decided to make my own decals.

So I drew a few insignia and printed them out on decal paper (license plates, tactical number, fire extinguisher badges and the small black and white visual marking on the tail; the laser warning sign is from the kits decal set).

The red fire extinguishers give a nice color contrast. I also cut off the antennas and drilled out the antenna feet. The kit's antennas are far too thick and too short.

Next comes the glossy varnish and the pinwash.
Best regards,
Andi
