may seem simple but, ive seen lots of ppl where i work slice their hand to hell, so heres a pic of how to hold them properly

use your thumb and middle finger as a pivot on the top and use your forefinger (index) to 'reinforce' the whole thing and you can get a very firm hold of it this way, its the safest way, or just get a blade holder:smile11:

I used to use those type blades when i worked in the paper industry . For 4 years and i never got a scratch. I changed jobs and within 1 year had lost the end of a finger .Not on a blade though.

i know most people use special modeling knives, personaly i just use a stanley knife! dont cost much and a blade will last you about 2months, it gets blunt, unscrew the knife and turn the blade around!!! plus the new blades are only a couple of quid for about 12!!!!

not like a couple ofr quid for 2 or 4 on these modeling knives!!!

Richard if you have a wickes diy store near you you can get a pack of stanley blades for £7.50 for 100 in a safety dispenser.
